Experience with packaged treatment systems
The original portfolio describes programming of Rockwell PLCs and touchscreens for Chatoyer Water. It includes water and wastewater systems installed in Queensland and Western Australia, with process and equipment design supplied by Chatoyer.
Control and visibility across the process
The published scope includes reverse osmosis and filtration control, operator screens, alarms and trends. Remote-site applications also involved 4G access and telemetry for interplant connectivity.
- PLC programming and control design
- Reverse osmosis and filtration processes
- SCADA process screens, alarms and trending
- Remote access for dispersed sites
- Site telemetry and interplant connectivity
- Field testing and commissioning
Examples in the published portfolio
Site references include Roy Hill, Woleebee, Ruby Jo, Condabri, OZ Minerals and Karratha. These are historical references from the existing site and illustrate the spread of remote treatment applications.
Start with the process requirements
For a new project, provide the treatment process description, equipment list and instrumentation information. For an existing plant, tell us about the control system, remote connection and the operational issue or upgrade requirement.
Describe the process and operating conditions
Identify pumps, valves, instruments and treatment stages. Explain normal flow, standby equipment and the conditions that require a stop or alarm. Scaling, engineering units and instrument status need to be consistent between the controller and operator display.
- Process stages and equipment dependencies
- Duty/standby requirements where applicable
- Measured values and engineering units
- Permissives, alarms and abnormal conditions
Include maintenance and recovery needs
Discuss how equipment will be operated during maintenance and how the process returns to service. Settings, operating modes and trends should support the plant’s procedures. Commissioning needs suitable process conditions and coordination with the responsible operator.
- Automatic and manual operating modes
- Equipment status and maintenance indication
- History needed for process investigation
- Start-up and return-to-service checks
